The Front Building Is Empty - A goodbye to the rooms that shaped so many of us

I received a video of the Euro Institute’s front building a few days ago. The walls were bare, the equipment had disappeared, and the classrooms emptied of desks and chairs. It surprised me how spacious the building appeared now that the bustle of students running back and forth, clients checking in for treatments and the daily hum of classroom activity was gone. I knew it was coming. The building has new owners, and the classes and clinic are tucked into the back building now, where it all continues for a few months longer. Still, I wasn't ready for how it would feel to see it.
I've been part of this community for thirteen years, first working alongside students and later as the person behind most of what you read here. That video saddened me in a way I didn't expect, and it felt like something worth sharing.
What That Building Held
Think about how many people walked through that front door for the first time, a little nervous and not quite sure they'd made the right decision. Months later, they walked back out as estheticians.
Those rooms held first facials, friends and family, practical exams, and a lot of practice on classmates. They held instructors who cared about doing this work well and passed that care on, one class at a time. They held clients who trusted students with their skin and left feeling better than when they came in. For many people, that building is where a new chapter of life began.
That's worth honoring. And an empty room doesn't erase any of it.
The Building Was the Container
In the end, here's what I keep coming back to. The building itself is only the container. What happened inside it, the training, the skills, the way of looking at skin and at people, the relationships - was never going to stay behind in those rooms. They went out the door with every student and graduate who studied here.
If you trained at the Euro, your education isn't tied to an address. It's in your hands, in the way you listen to a client, and in the habits you built in the treatment room. No one can clear that out or take it away.
And if you're a working esthetician who never set foot in that building, the same is true of wherever you trained. The place matters, but what you carry from it matters more.
To Everyone Who Was Part of It
To our students: you're carrying The Euro Institute’s holistic practice forward, and that matters. Keep showing up, keep asking questions, and take everything you can from the time you have here.
To our graduates, clients, and the estheticians who've relied on our products and resources: thank you. You’re part of what made us who we are, and you’ll always be.
It's okay to feel a little sad. That empty building makes it real that this is the end of an era. For more than thirty years The Euro Institute has been a part of so many lives and we’ll cherish that legacy.
But that was never really about the building. It was about the people who passed through it, and you're still here.
